Ancona completes PNRR-funded renovations at the Mole complex

In Ancona, local officials have completed several renovation projects at the Mole complex funded by the PNRR (National Recovery and Resilience Plan). Mayor Daniele Silvetti and Public Works Assessor Stefano Tombolini conducted an inspection of the Tabacchi, Viani, and Mercanti rooms, which were completed with an investment of over 3 million euros.

While the projects adhered to the Next Generation EU timelines, full functionality of the sites will take time. For instance, the Torrette nursery is expected to be operational in 2027, and some smaller rooms will be available in a few months. To preserve historical integrity, the superintendency required that the original cobblestone flooring in the Tabacchi room be covered rather than removed.
