Ancona football clubs brace for new regional league line‑ups

The upcoming Eccellenza season in the Marche region sees Lunano, Alma Fano and Aurora Treia emerging as the main contenders, with Montefano also expected to challenge after recent signings. The league’s balance remains tight, and several lower‑ranked sides are projected to fight for playoff spots.

In Serie D, the Lega Nazionale Dilettanti has drawn Group F, adding three Umbrian clubs—Angelana (Assisi), Foligno and Sporting Trestina (Città di Castello)—to the existing Marche, Abruzzo, Molise and Abruzzo teams. Director of sport Luca Gerilli of Ancona highlighted the group’s difficulty and stressed that the club must build its campaign on results. Ancona’s first match will be against Vigor Senigallia on 30 August, following a recent training stint at Sarteano.

Both competitions underline the competitive landscape for Ancona‑based teams as they navigate new opponents and aim for promotion.
