Ancona hosts ‘via maestra’ photography exhibition

The Lions Club Ancona Host and the Ancona Municipality Culture Department are launching a photography exhibition titled ‘Ancona, la via maestra’. The exhibition is scheduled to open to the public on Saturday, October 17, at 10:00 AM at Spazio Presente, within the City Museum.

The project is part of the broader ‘Ancona Capitale Italiana della Cultura 2028’ dossier, to which the Lions Club has contributed. The exhibition focuses on the ‘via maestra’, the historic main thoroughfare that traditionally led from the city entrance to the San Ciriaco Cathedral.

Through various photographs, the exhibition aims to educate viewers on the city's historical transformations, spanning from Greco-Roman antiquity and the Maritime Republic era to the Baroque period and the Risorgimento. It highlights the city's monuments, palaces, and religious buildings as a way to preserve and rediscover Ancona's millennial history.
