Ancona municipal council launches commercial hub and Mosaic music centre to revitalise historic centre

The city of Ancona approved the "Centro Commerciale Naturale del Teatro", a new commercial hub in the historic centre between Piazza Kennedy, Via del Sacramento and Piazza della Repubblica. Backed by the municipal council and Confcommercio, the project leverages a regional Marche grant without extra municipal expenses and could bring an additional €15,000 for further upgrades. It will modernise participating small businesses with digital tools, rebuild pavement, install new lighting and launch territorial‑marketing branding, with local firms such as Bar Giuliani and Tana del Polpo slated to join.

Separately, Ancona opened the Mosaic centre for musical innovation on Via Flavia 2, converting an unused public building into a youth‑focused space with rehearsal rooms and digital‑creative facilities. Funded with €350,000 from a national ANCI youth‑policies programme and supported by ERAP, Mosaic is managed by Piattaforma APS and forms part of the StartAN initiative aimed at entrepreneurs under 35. The centre opened on 11 July with a pilot event and is slated for full completion in September, offering training, networking and cultural activities for the city and neighbouring municipalities.
