Ancona street fights leave two injured after police intervene

In Ancona, police responded to two separate nighttime altercations. In the first incident near Piazza Rosselli, a woman shouted for help after being approached by a man. A friend arrived, and another passer‑by, hearing the cries, mistakenly struck the woman's friend with a bottle. The victim was taken to Torrette Hospital for treatment.

In a second incident in Piazza del Plebiscito, two men of extra‑community origin began a fight after an exchange of looks and words. Police separated them; one man received low‑severity medical care, while the other refused treatment. Authorities later identified a violation of a residence‑restriction order for one of the participants and initiated legal action.
