Ancona tunnel lighting upgrade and Aosta airport work delayed

Night construction began Wednesday on the Risorgimento tunnel in Ancona, closing the 535‑metre passage from 22:00 to 06:00 on weekdays until the end of July. The €400,000 project will remove the existing lighting system and install a software‑controlled, intensity‑adjustable illumination network that responds to external light levels.

Work on the “Corrado Gex” airport in Aosta has been postponed by two months, moving the original August 26 deadline to the autumn of 2026. A third variant appraisal is required, bringing total public spending to €7.3 million plus additional €1.5 million and €750 000 for façade and equipment upgrades. Police and customs authorities have also demanded extra installations before completion.
