Andalo: 19-year-old hiker struck by lightning during trek

A 19-year-old hiker from Ancona was struck by lightning during a trek at Passo Dagnola in the municipality of Andalo, Trentino. The incident occurred around 10:30 AM while the young man was hiking with seven friends.

Emergency services deployed a helicopter to reach the area before worsening weather conditions, including heavy rain and strong winds, could impede the rescue. The young man was airlifted to safety and his medical condition was reported as not serious. Rescuers also used the helicopter to evacuate the seven companions, who were shaken by the event.
