Andalucía economy shows growth while Burgos business activity slows
Andalucía is experiencing divergent economic trends. The regional economy is projected to grow by more than 2.7% in 2026, driven by the services sector, tourism, and the deployment of Next Generation EU funds. This growth is supported by a robust dependency system, which reached record figures in August 2026 with nearly 360,000 people served and over 566,000 benefits provided. Notably, the regional government has reduced dependency waiting times to 413 days, the lowest in 15 years.
In contrast, the business climate in Burgos is showing signs of cooling. According to the Confederation of Business Associations of Burgos (FAE), only one in three companies reported improved turnover in the first half of 2026. While the local labor market remains resilient with over 30% of companies creating jobs, businesses are facing increased uncertainty, rising costs, and competitiveness challenges.
