Andalucía requires fivefold increase in energy renovations by 2030
A report by Accumin indicates that the housing stock in Andalucía faces a structural energy efficiency deficit due to building age and insufficient rehabilitation. To avoid having an obsolete housing stock by 2030, the region needs to increase its energy renovation efforts fivefold. The study notes that efficient new builds represent only 4% of the total housing stock, making natural renewal an unviable solution.
In the Valencian Community, the REDIT EcoHábitat initiative, supported by the General Directorate of Housing, is addressing sustainable habitat challenges. The project provides guidance on reducing energy consumption through better insulation, humidity control, and efficient appliance use. Long-term improvements in thermal insulation are highlighted as essential for reducing heat loss and heating requirements during colder months.
