Andalucía recorded its highest increase in self-employed workers for the month of September in five years, adding 3,289 new workers compared to August. This brings the total number of self-employed individuals in the region to 605,258.
Málaga emerged as a primary driver of this growth, accounting for 35% of Andalucía’s total growth over the last year. The province now hosts 24.4% of the region's self-employed population. In September alone, Málaga added 896 workers, representing a 0.6% increase. Sevilla saw the largest absolute increase with 1,133 new workers.
While most provinces reported growth, Huelva was the sole exception, recording a decrease of 76 workers. On a national level, Spain added 14,229 self-employed workers in September, reaching a total of 3,483,645.
