Andalusia approves record 54.7 billion euro budget for 2027
The Government of Andalusia has approved a draft budget for 2027 totaling 54,716.7 million euros, marking a 6% increase over 2026. This represents the highest budget in the history of the autonomous community and is the first derived from the governing pact between the PP and Vox parties.
The budget aims for a zero-deficit balance and includes significant allocations for various sectors. In Málaga, the province is slated to receive 780.9 million euros, which includes 50.8 million euros for a new hospital, over 108 million euros for research infrastructure, and 45 million euros for sustainable urban mobility. Education is allocated 11,889.7 million euros regionally, with 176 million euros dedicated to educational infrastructure.
While the regional education budget includes funds for repairs and new constructions, the draft does not contain a specific line item for the construction of a second institute in Manilva. Local education officials stated they will seek funding for this project through European funds. Additionally, the budget includes provisions for healthcare staffing, such as 2,500 new health workers, and addresses immigration through the maintenance of existing resources and the promotion of return plans for unaccompanied minors.
