Andalusia coalition talks stall as Vox rejects PP's parliamentary board offer

In the opening weeks of the Andalusian legislature, Vox voted against the People's Party (PP) proposal to join the regional parliamentary board (Mesa). The rejection by Vox’s 15 deputies complicates PP leader Juanma Moreno’s aim to govern alone, despite the PP holding 53 seats but lacking an absolute majority. The first major negotiation point, scheduled for 11 June, involved offering Vox one or two board positions, a customary concession in coalition talks. Vox’s refusal, described as “decisive,” raises doubts about any future coalition and could affect the composition of vice‑presidencies and the council of government. While similar arrangements have been made in regions such as Aragon, this would be the first time in Andalusia. Vox maintains that it has not ruled out joining a government but insists on policy priorities and opposes any “national priority” line that would differentiate services by nationality.
