Andalusia establishes working groups to monitor healthcare professional aggression
Territorial working groups for the Observatory of Aggressions against Public Health System Professionals have been established in the Andalusian provinces of Granada and Seville. These groups serve as technical support instruments to analyze, monitor, and evaluate aggression against healthcare workers at the provincial level.
In Granada, the meeting included representatives from hospitals, health districts, security forces, professional colleges, and unions. Francisco Cerezuela, president of the Official College of Veterinarians of Granada, highlighted the specific risks faced by public health veterinarians who perform official controls in slaughterhouses and food industries, noting that their regulatory decisions can lead to economic repercussions and subsequent tension.
In Seville, the group aims to identify high-risk factors, detect difficulties in notification and registration circuits, and collect best practices to improve professional protection. The initiative seeks to coordinate various institutions to foster safer healthcare environments and ensure that no professional must accept physical or verbal aggression as an inherent part of their work.
