Andalusia extends deadline for school literary contest on volunteering

The Junta de Andalucía has extended the submission deadline for the 25th edition of the Andalusian School Literary Contest, titled ‘Solidaridad en Letras: el valor de las personas mayores y el voluntariado en el año internacional de las personas voluntarias’. The new deadline for entries is November 17.

Focused on the International Year of Volunteers, the contest aims to raise awareness among students regarding the care of the elderly and the importance of volunteering. The competition is open to students from Primary Education and Special Education centers, including public, private, and subsidized schools throughout Andalusia.

Participants may submit original, unpublished short fiction narratives of up to three pages. The contest features two categories: one for fifth and sixth-grade primary students and another for special education students. Submissions will be evaluated based on writing quality, coherence with the theme, originality, and vocabulary precision.
