Andalusia faces financing challenges and governing pact scrutiny
The regional government of Andalusia faces a critical challenge in negotiating a new autonomous financing system to replace the current model, which has been expired for over a decade. Reports based on Ministry of Finance data indicate a significant funding gap; in 2024, Andalusia received 1,634 million euros less than the national average. This underfunding is noted to be higher than in previous years and affects the quality of public services provided to citizens.
Separately, Carolina España, the Third Vice President and Minister of Economy, Hacienda, and European Funds, defended the governing pact between the PP-A and Vox. She stated there is a "serious commitment" to the agreement, asserting that the pact is intended to last the entire legislature as it reflects the will of the voters.
