Andalusia hosts regional sailing championships in Seville and Motril

Several major sailing competitions are taking place in Andalusia this weekend. In Seville, the Club Náutico Sevilla is hosting the 47th edition of its Optimist trophy, which serves as the Andalusia Inland Waters Championship. The event features 67 young sailors, up to 16 years old, representing eight clubs from Seville, Cádiz, Huelva, and Málaga. A new format for this edition includes dividing the fleet into two groups with independent starts for male and female categories.

Simultaneously, the Real Club Náutico de Motril is hosting the 2026 Snipe Andalusia Cup, also known as the Pata Negra Sailing Week. This competition is part of the official Andalusian Sailing Federation calendar and is recognized by the Snipe Class International. The event attracts crews from across Spain and is a significant fixture on the Costa Tropical sailing circuit.
