Andalusia launches campaign to promote domestic task sharing

The Junta de Andalucía has launched a new awareness campaign titled ‘Quiero estar contigo’ to promote a balanced distribution of domestic and family tasks between men and women. Part of the Ministry of Equality’s Plan Corresponsables, the initiative aims to foster greater co-responsibility within households to achieve real equality.

The campaign emphasizes the emotional well-being generated by shared responsibilities, highlighting how balanced organization facilitates family coexistence, rest, and personal projects. It seeks to involve all household members, including young people and grandparents, to establish these habits early and strengthen family support networks.

José Manuel Borrero, the territorial delegate for Social Services, Family, and Equality in Huelva, stated that reconciliation and co-responsibility are not issues exclusive to women, but involve everyone. The initiative aims to ensure women can pursue professional and personal goals without having to sacrifice their time or career aspirations due to an unequal distribution of care and domestic duties.
