Andalusia launches maritime roadmap to boost blue economy

The Maritime-Marine Cluster of Andalusia (CMMA) has launched its ‘Impulsando el Azul’ (Boosting the Blue) roadmap for the 2026-2030 period. The assembly unanimously re-elected Javier Noriega Hernández as president to lead this new strategic phase.

The maritime sector is a significant economic driver for the region, contributing over 17 billion euros annually and supporting approximately 300,000 jobs. The new roadmap focuses on seven strategic priorities aimed at connecting the productive fabric with universities, society, and the environment through a ‘quintuple helix’ model. Key objectives include the creation of a specific Blue Economy department within the Junta de Andalucía and transforming port, fishing, and sporting facilities into innovation hubs.

In alignment with these regional goals, Puerto Deportivo de Sotogrande is increasing its involvement in professional forums and maritime summits. The marina has participated in events such as the International Sailing Summit in Málaga to address industry challenges including digitalization, sustainability, maritime security, and the legal frameworks of recreational ports.
