Andalusia leads Spanish tourism resilience rankings

A new report by consultancy Racemydesk identifies Andalusia as the most resilient tourism destination in Spain, scoring 87.7 out of 100. The ranking evaluates destinations based on their ability to withstand geopolitical crises, pandemics, and market shifts using indicators such as market diversification, domestic tourism, recovery, seasonality, and air connectivity.

Andalusia leads due to its high levels of market diversification and a strong domestic tourism base, where 91.4% of trips are national. Other high-ranking regions include the Community of Madrid (85.6) and the Valencian Community (81.1). In contrast, the Balearic Islands scored the lowest at 9.7, largely due to a high dependency on the German market, which accounts for 74% of international overnight stays.

Separately, the Navarre region has been ranked as the fourth best-perceived tourism destination in Spain for the second quarter of 2026, according to a LLYC perception barometer. While digital conversations highlight positive trends in sustainable, rural, and nature-based tourism, the region also faces challenges regarding the controversy over irregular tourist accommodations.
