Andalusia marks 40 years of Spain's EU accession

Various events and exhibitions are being held in Andalusia to commemorate the 40th anniversary of Spain's accession to the European Union.

In Almería, the “Terraza Europa” event was organized by the Diario de Almería and the European Parliament Office in Spain. The initiative focused on dialogue with local youth regarding the opportunities provided by the EU, featuring contributions from MEP Marcos Ros and Jesús Carmona, Director of Media for the European Parliament.

In Córdoba, the Diputación de Córdoba hosted the traveling exhibition “Andalucía, 40 años creciendo en Europa: del tratado a la transformación” (Andalusia, 40 years growing in Europe: from treaty to transformation). The exhibition highlights the social, political, and economic impact of European integration on the region. It provides a historical overview of the accession treaty, Spain's role in European construction, and the importance of European funds and territorial cooperation in the development of Andalusia's eight provinces.
