Andalusia municipalities launch senior sports program and hold historical memory ceremony

The municipal sports department of La Línea opened registration for its 2026/27 Senior Sports Programme, offering activities such as mobility exercises, hipopressive training and modern dance to promote physical health and social wellbeing for older residents. Classes are set to begin on 1 September and run through 31 May 2027, with enrolment handled at the local sports office next to the municipal pavilion.

In Puente Genil, the town council commemorated the Day of Historical Memory and Democracy with a ceremony at the municipal cemetery. Officials from IU, PSOE and PP read a manifesto reaffirming commitment to democratic values, while the mayor highlighted ongoing efforts to locate and identify victims of the Franco regime and announced cultural projects honoring poet Juan Rejano.
