Andalusia postpones B1 language requirement negotiations until 2027
The Regional Government of Andalusia has delayed negotiations regarding the implementation of the B1 language proficiency requirement for civil service examinations until 2027. The decision was made by the Ministry of Artificial Intelligence, Digital Development, and Public Function, which had previously intended to convene a sectoral table with unions before the end of the year.
Under the current agreement, the B1 requirement has been removed from the ongoing Public Employment Offer (OEP). However, calls for job openings published in the first half of 2027, 2028, and 2029 must include language requirements for sub-group A1 positions, subject to future negotiations. This affects both open access and internal promotion.
The Andalusian Union of Civil Servants (SAF) has called for clarity, arguing that the requirement should be based on specific job roles rather than entire professional bodies. The administration maintains that the debate will resume in 2027 to determine the specific terms of these requirements.
