Tourism Innovation Summit 2026 focuses on AI and data in Seville
The seventh edition of the Tourism Innovation Summit (TIS2026) is being held in Seville, focusing on how artificial intelligence, data analysis, and digital transformation are reshaping the travel and hotel sectors. The event, which is expected to generate an economic impact of over 23 million euros, brings together more than 8,000 professionals and 200 exhibitors to discuss technological advancements like cloud computing and cybersecurity.
During the summit, regional leaders emphasized the importance of innovation for competitiveness. Manuel Gavira, the Andalusian Minister of Tourism, highlighted that data-driven management and technological transformation are essential to support businesses and improve destination management. Similarly, representatives from Castilla y León presented their model, which utilizes the 'Plataforma de Cohesión Inteligente de Destinos' to centralize strategic tourism data for better decision-making.
On a local level, Orihuela has completed a national diagnostic by SEGITTUR to advance its status as a Smart Tourist Destination, focusing on governance, sustainability, and accessibility. Meanwhile, in Ibiza, authorities are discussing the 'Plan de Intervención en Ámbitos Turísticos' (PIAT) to create seasonal worker housing and prevent pressure on local residential rental markets.
