Andalusia promotes slow tourism to diversify regional visitor flows

The Junta de Andalucía is promoting the ‘slow tourism’ segment to diversify visitor flows and decentralize tourism across the region. To achieve this, officials met with approximately 75 international buyers from over 20 European countries during commercialization sessions organized by Turespaña in Pamplona.

This initiative aims to position Andalusia as a premier destination for responsible, high-quality travel that emphasizes local culture, gastronomy, and natural heritage. By targeting travelers interested in nature, rural experiences, and premium cultural routes, the strategy seeks to move visitors away from traditional mass-tourism hubs and toward smaller municipalities.

As part of this effort, Córdoba is serving as a primary showcase. A specialized tour has been organized for international agents to experience the province’s authentic and sustainable offerings firsthand, highlighting its capacity for high-quality, contemplative tourism.
