Andalusia: PSOE-A proposes paid leave for teachers during weather emergencies

The PSOE-A group is set to defend a non-legislative proposal in the Andalusian Parliament's Education Commission on Wednesday, October 14. The initiative aims to protect teaching staff in public centers from the impacts of adverse weather phenomena and emergency situations.

The proposal seeks to establish paid leave for teachers who are unable to reach their workplaces due to weather-related complications. This would include instances where travel is restricted or prohibited by competent authorities, or when there is a grave and imminent risk from a meteorological catastrophe.

Additionally, the initiative calls for the Junta de Andalucía to implement a single regional protocol for action. This protocol would establish objective and homogeneous criteria for all public educational centers in Andalusia, determining how they should respond to mobility restrictions and weather alerts.
