Andalusia removes B1 language requirement for current civil service exams

The Andalusian Administration has withdrawn the requirement for candidates to prove a B1 level of a second language for the current round of public employment exams. This decision follows negotiations with labor unions, who had criticized the proposal for changing examination rules shortly before the scheduled tests.

While the B1 requirement is removed for the current call, the administration plans to introduce language requirements for sub-group A1 positions in the 2027, 2028, and 2029 recruitment cycles, subject to future negotiations. The Sindicato Andaluz de Funcionarios (SAF) has questioned the necessity of the measure, noting a lack of studies justifying why a B1 level is required for specific administrative functions.
