Andalusia sees 9% rise in 112 emergency calls in first half of 2026

The Andalusian 112 emergency service recorded 459,715 coordinated incidents between January and June 2026, a rise of about 9% compared with the same period in 2025. The increase was driven by higher demand for medical assistance, traffic incidents and citizen‑security alerts.

In Almería province the call volume reached 38,776, placing it fifth among Andalusian regions. In Córdoba the service handled 35,003 incidents, a 13.28% increase year‑on‑year, with medical assistance accounting for 16,112 calls, the most frequent reason for contact. The busiest hour each day was between 12:00 and 13:00, averaging roughly 150 calls per hour.

The 112 system remains a free, 24‑hour public service across Europe, offering advanced mobile‑phone location and multilingual support in English, French, German, Ukrainian, Arabic and Spanish.
