Andalusia to allocate 50 million euros for university investments

The Andalusian government's 2027 budget proposal includes 50 million euros designated for public universities in the region. This funding is intended to cover extraordinary investments and financial restructuring.

The funds will be provided as earmarked loans, meaning universities must repay the amounts to the regional treasury. The budget specifies that failure to use the funds for their intended purposes will trigger an early repayment requirement.

To qualify for extraordinary investment funding, projects must exceed one million euros and surpass the university's current treasury capacity, excluding routine maintenance or replacement costs. For financial restructuring, the funds must be linked to existing or ongoing investment payment obligations, and the requesting university must have a negative treasury balance for general expenses.
