Andalusian Bullfighting Season Highlights Huelva and El Puerto de Santa María Rounds

On July 31, the Plaza de Toros La Merced in Huelva hosted a bullfight featuring matadors David Fandila (known as El Fandi), Manuel Escribano and local torero Alejandro Conquero. The event marked the return of the famed Miura bulls to Huelva after almost five decades, the last appearance having been on 30 July 1977. The spectacle was broadcast live on Canal Sur TV at 20:00.

The following day, 1 August, the Plaza de Toros in El Puerto de Santa María held its scheduled bullfight with veteran Morante de la Puebla, Alejandro Talavante and Juan Ortega. Organisers expected around 12 000 spectators. The bout is part of the summer bullfighting cycle that runs from 31 July to 9 August, comprising four bullfights, one rejoneo and one novillada, with ticket prices ranging from €20 to €191.

During the Huelva event, Manuel Escribano slipped and required medical attention, while the Miura bulls provided a dramatic backdrop that drew strong audience applause.
