Andalusian flamenco festivals celebrate Pepe Marchena and Fosforito

The XLVI edition of the Noche Flamenca Ecijana runs from 29 June to 3 July 2026 at the Palacio de Peñaflor, expanding to a five‑day program that honors historic flamenco figures. The third day is devoted to legendary singer Pepe Marchena, with a tribute performance by young cantaor Francisco Escudero “El Perrete” and guitarist Rubén Levaniegra. Earlier sessions include homages to Enrique “El Clavero” and guitarist Enrique “El Gandinga”, a piano concert by David Peña Dorantes, and a closing gala dedicated to female flamenco talent such as Alicia Gil and Encarna Anillo.

Separately, the ONCE lottery will feature the 17th Noche Blanca Flamenca of Córdoba on 20–21 June, dedicating its next Saturday draw to the event. The promotion displays a flamenco figure holding a key beneath a full moon and pays tribute to the cantaor Fosforito. ONCE director Francisco Valderas and regional vice‑president Leonor Basallote presented the design to Córdoba’s cultural authorities, highlighting the celebration of local flamenco heritage.

Both festivals underscore Andalusia’s ongoing effort to preserve and showcase its flamenco legacy.
