Andalusian government builds 51‑metre bridge for Punta del Boquerón trail

The Junta de Andalucía is constructing a 51‑metre long, 3‑metre high elevated bridge as part of a €200,000 investment to repair the Punta del Boquerón trail in the Bahía de Cádiz Natural Park. The work, funded through the Plan Andalucía Actúa, follows storm damage that compromised walkways and caused safety concerns. Óscar Curtido, the territorial delegate for Sustainability and Environment, inspected the site and highlighted the aim to restore safe access for the thousands of visitors who use the 2.5‑km trail each year while protecting the dune system.

The project includes a new alternative route in the first section of the path, integrating environmental safeguards to reduce future storm impact. The bridge will span a waterway, allowing users to cross without disturbing the surrounding marshes and dunes, and is expected to be completed later this year.
