Andalusian Health Service receives €254 million to cover staff shortfalls

The Andalusian regional government approved a transfer of €254.82 million to the Servicio Andaluz de Salud (SAS) to meet personnel expenses for June through September. The funds will pay for four months of staff costs, including €118.5 million for substitute doctors, €112.44 million for interim staff and €23.81 million for overtime extensions.

The Council of Government justified the move as a “need to provide budgetary coverage for the shortfalls” identified in existing expenditure lines, redistributing credit from the program for salary revisions. The redistribution does not alter the original objectives of the health program and complies with fiscal rules for credit transfers exceeding €3 million.
