Andalusia Transparency Council orders SAS to release diagnostic waiting list data

The Transparency and Data Protection Council of Andalusia has issued a resolution granting the Servicio Andaluz de Salud (SAS) a non-extendable ten-day deadline to publish data regarding diagnostic test waiting lists. This follows a citizen's request for detailed information, including the number of pending patients by province, specialty, and average response times.

Reports indicate that specific data regarding diagnostic waiting lists has remained opaque since 2019. While surgical and specialist consultation waiting lists are published periodically, the SAS previously claimed it lacked the necessary tools to provide the requested diagnostic data. The transparency council has demanded that the administration provide the most up-to-date information available or clearly state if such reports do not exist.

The ruling has drawn criticism from political opposition, with the PSOE calling on the regional government to comply with the deadline and provide the requested records.
