Andalusian PP‑Vox coalition pact signed, adding €1.3 bn tax cuts and union subsidy reductions
The People's Party (PP) and Vox have formalised a coalition agreement for the Andalusian regional government under President Juan Manuel Moreno and Vice‑President Manuel Gavira. The pact, spanning 150 measures, earmarks €1.3 billion in tax relief over four years, including progressive IRPF cuts and family‑related deductions. It also introduces a new housing‑construction programme, climate‑friendly upgrades for school buildings, and a “priority national” rule that ties public aid to demonstrable local ties.
The agreement calls for a hard line on immigration, rejecting any sharing of illegal‑immigrant quotas with the central government, limiting new reception facilities, and pledging a return‑and‑repatriation plan. It also proposes protecting agricultural land from large‑scale solar and wind projects.
A notable fiscal component is the 50 % cut to subsidies previously granted to trade unions and business organisations for institutional participation, with funds redirected to direct citizen needs. The pact further proposes eliminating subsidies to NGOs that facilitate illegal immigration and scaling back environmental levies.
Opposition voices have emerged: IU leader Antonio Maíllo urged a broad left‑wing alliance to confront what he called an “authoritarian threat” from the PP‑Vox coalition, while national PP leader Alberto Feijóo used the regional pact as a backdrop to accuse the Sánchez government of systemic corruption in several ministries.
