Andalusian PP‑Vox coalition seeks RTVA board seats and plans expanded private bachillerato

Vox officials announced they are negotiating to place two of their members on the board of Andalusia’s public broadcaster RTVA. The current eight‑member board comprises five PP appointees, two PSOE, and one Vox representative, Álvaro Zancajo. Vox spokesperson José Antonio Fúster said the party must “guard freedom of thought” and warned that the coalition’s aim is eventually “to govern alone”.

In the coalition agreement, the PP‑Vox government also pledged a “progressive concertation” of Bachillerato for the 2027‑2028 school year, reversing a pattern of widespread denials of new private‑sector seats. Though the budget for concerted Bachillerato has risen to €36.6 million for 2026, only a handful of new units have been approved in recent years. The new commitment could increase private‑school options for secondary education, pending further budget and planning details.
