Andalusian towns host contemporary art exhibit and flamenco festival this summer
The Centro de Arte Contemporáneo (CAC) "Francisco Hernández" in Vélez‑Málaga opened a new exhibition on 5 June featuring 13 paintings and two sculptures by local abstract artists. The show, which runs until 29 November, highlights works donated to the municipality, part of a municipal collection of more than 500 contemporary pieces.
Rincón de la Victoria will stage the third Festival Flamenco Noctiluca from 28 to 30 August. The event adds the traditional Verdiales to its programme, using three venues across the town and presenting a line‑up of largely Andalusian performers. Activities include concerts, dance workshops, lectures on flamenco history, a large flash‑mob and an honorary award to Patricia Guerrero, director of the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía.
