Andeclip president defends doctors amid SeNaSa fraud probe
Carlos Alcántara Montes, president of the National Association of Private Clinics (Andeclip), has rejected attempts to generalize the guilt of all medical professionals following investigations by the Public Ministry into alleged fraud within the National Health Insurance (SeNaSa).
During a recent interview, Alcántara Montes argued that responsibilities must be individualized rather than assuming all health professionals working under the insurance regime are involved in the suspected embezzlement scheme. He described the broad implications as an “apparatus” that is unfair to the medical community.
Additionally, the Andeclip president highlighted the economic strain on private healthcare centers. He noted that operating costs have risen significantly, while facilities must continue to cover expenses while awaiting payments from various Health Risk Administrators (ARS) for services provided to affiliates.
