Ander Herrera donates salary to Real Zaragoza

Spanish midfielder Ander Herrera has returned to his childhood club, Real Zaragoza, and announced he will donate his salary to the club's foundation. The 37-year-old, who previously played for Manchester United and PSG, rejoined the team following their relegation to the Spanish third division.

Herrera stated that his decision is driven by gratitude toward the club that launched his professional career. Speaking on the ‘Rio Ferdinand Presents’ podcast, he explained that having achieved significant sporting and financial success, he no longer requires the income and wishes to help the city where he grew up.

While regulations require Real Zaragoza to pay him a minimum gross annual salary of 25,000 euros, Herrera intends to redirect the entirety of these funds to the club's foundation to assist with their current difficulties.
