Anderlecht and Standard rule out returns of former stars Lukaku and Witsel

Anderlecht has been linked with a possible comeback of 33‑year‑old striker Romelu Lukaku, but club advisor Stijn Stijnen warned it would be a risky move. Lukaku and his agent have already indicated that a transfer will not happen this summer, citing his physically demanding season at Napoli and the high expectations at the Belgian club.

Midfielder Axel Witsel, now a free agent after Girona’s relegation, has ruled out any return to Standard as a player. He said, "As a player I will not go back to Standard," and stressed that he remains fit and intends to play at top level for at least another season before deciding on his post‑World Cup future.
