Anderlecht targets French midfielder Pierre Ekwah in transfer push

Belgian club RSC Anderlecht has placed 24‑year‑old French defensive midfielder Pierre Ekwah on its summer shortlist. The player, currently contracted to Saint‑Étienne and valued at around €2 million, is seen as a physical addition to the midfield as Anderlecht aims to return to the top of the Belgian league after a trophy‑less season.

Ekwah’s résumé includes youth spells at Chelsea and West Ham, a loan to Watford in England’s Championship where he made seven appearances, and recent time with Saint‑Étienne’s first team. Anderlecht is reportedly considering a loan deal but has not ruled out a permanent transfer. Other European clubs such as Levante, Leicester City and Watford have also shown interest, but the Belgian side appears the most determined to conclude a move before the new season begins.
