Anders Colsefni revives early Slipknot era material

Anders Colsefni, the original vocalist and founder of the heavy metal band Slipknot, has returned to the stage to perform material from the group’s early era. Colsefni is specifically reviving songs from the 1996 release, ‘Mate. Feed. Kill. Repeat.’, which he considers a full album despite its classification by the music industry as a demo.

In a recent interview, Colsefni described the physical and mental challenges of returning to this repertoire. He noted the need to reconstruct his physical conditioning and research lost lyrics to handle the demanding performances, which involve a mix of vocals, drumming, and high-energy stage antics.

Colsefni also addressed the band's history, including the transition period involving the arrival of Corey Taylor and the influence of Roadrunner Records, which sought a more radio-friendly sound following the submission of the band's original material.
