Anders Mol Joins Italian Indoor Team Rana Verona, Remains Beach Partner

Norwegian beach‑volleyball star Anders Mol, 29, Olympic gold (Tokyo 2021) and bronze (Paris 2024) medalist, announced he will play professional indoor volleyball in Italy for Rana Verona in the 2026‑27 SuperLega season, taking the opposite position.

Mol described the move as a unique challenge and the first top‑level transition from beach to indoor volleyball. He will continue training with his long‑time beach partner Christian Sørum as they prepare for the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics, hoping to qualify through the European Championship in Poland.

The switch follows Mol’s recent wedding in Italy and will not disrupt his beach season, which includes tournaments in Germany, Canada and the European Championship in Poland before the indoor season begins. Mol expects the indoor experience to strengthen his beach game.
