Anderson Espinoza reaches 10 wins in Japan's Pacific League

Venezuelan pitcher Anderson Espinoza is having a historic season in Japan's Pacific League. Playing for the Orix Buffaloes, Espinoza recently secured his tenth victory of the campaign, making him the co-leader in that category.

With this achievement, Espinoza becomes the first imported pitcher for the Buffaloes to record double-digit wins since American Tom Davey in 2006. Additionally, he currently leads the Pacific League in ERA with a 2.25 mark, maintaining a lead over competitors Kona Takahashi and Chihiro Sumida.

Espinoza's performance is notable within the context of Japanese baseball history, where only eight foreign pitchers have led the wins department and only seven imported pitchers have topped the ERA rankings. He joins an elite group of Latin American pitchers, such as Liván Moinelo and Balbino Gálvez, who have achieved multiple seasons with 10 or more wins in the league.
