Anderson Maurício brings sensory poetry intervention to São Paulo health units

Multi-artist and agroforester Anderson Maurício is bringing a sensory intervention titled ‘Realejo do Cultivo’ to public health units in São Paulo. Part of the Casa Flor’esta project, the initiative offers free circulation to create moments of pause and comfort for patients and healthcare workers.

The itinerant installation uses noise-canceling headphones to provide individual poetry readings, paired with aromatherapy using basil essential oils. The project aims to provide a sense of deceleration within the routines of Basic Health Units (UBS), Psychosocial Care Centers (CAPS), and other specialized rehabilitation and coexistence centers.

Maurício, who developed his literary work alongside agroforestry in São Paulo’s Jardim Romano neighborhood, will also present the intervention at the São Paulo International Book Biennial on September 11 at the Salão de Ideias.
