Andhra Cricket Association to host inaugural Women’s Premier League

The Andhra Cricket Association (ACA) has announced the inaugural Women’s Andhra Premier League (WAPL), scheduled to take place from September 19 to 27, 2026. The tournament will feature four teams competing at the Mangalagiri Stadium.

ACA President and Vijayawada MP Kesineni Sivanath stated that the league aims to accelerate the development of women’s cricket and provide a competitive platform for young female athletes. The initiative is intended to foster women’s empowerment through structured sporting exposure.

To encourage public engagement, spectator entry will be free, and special buses will be provided to transport students from Vijayawada to the stadium. The association also plans to expand the league's footprint to Visakhapatnam and Kadapa in future seasons. A bike rally from Vijayawada to Mangalagiri is being organized to raise local awareness for the event.
