Andhra Pradesh aims to become global knowledge hub via IIT alumni

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu has identified the PanIIT Andhra Pradesh Summit 2026 as a key initiative to transform the state into a global knowledge hub. The program aims to leverage the expertise of India’s approximately 500,000 IIT alumni to drive regional development.

A central component of this initiative is the establishment of the World Amaravati IITians Council, which will provide continuous, subject-specific ideas and foster collaboration between various universities and IITs. The summit, organized by PanIIT Alumni India in collaboration with the state government, serves to create a long-term technology and innovation roadmap.

The event was inaugurated by Nara Lokesh, the Minister for Information Technology, Electronics & Communications, and included participation from industry leaders, policymakers, academics, and technology experts.
