Andhra Pradesh CM Naidu addresses climate, drought, and development

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu is addressing multiple state challenges, ranging from environmental sustainability to agricultural crises caused by El Niño. In Bengaluru, Naidu and Karnataka Chief Minister DK Shivakumar inaugurated The Earth Centre, a facility focused on sustainable construction, recycled materials, and net-zero principles to combat climate change.

Simultaneously, Naidu is managing a significant agricultural threat. The state has recorded a 50.7 per cent rainfall deficit, leading to drought-like conditions in 513 mandals across 28 districts. Officials have been directed to scientifically assess these conditions and declare drought-affected areas by October 1. To mitigate the impact of El Niño, the government is implementing action plans to support farmers, ensure crop insurance payouts, and control the prices of essential commodities like rice and onions.

In regional development news, the BJP Andhra Pradesh president announced plans to transform Visakhapatnam into a global economic hub, targeting investments of ₹21.64 lakh crore over the next two years to drive industrial and IT growth.
