Andhra Pradesh ECET seat allotment delayed as Telangana engineering seats remain vacant

The Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) announced a second postponement of the AP ECET 2026 seat allotment, moving the release to July 27 after 6 PM. No specific reason was given, and students expressed heightened anxiety over the delay.

In neighboring Telangana, the second phase of TGEAPCET 2026 counselling left more than 14,000 of the 94,424 engineering seats unfilled, yielding an overall seat‑filling rate of 84.9%. Private colleges accounted for the majority of vacancies, especially in Computer Science, IT, and related programmes.

Both events affect thousands of prospective engineering students across the two states, highlighting ongoing challenges in seat allocation and demand‑supply balance in regional engineering admissions.
