Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly adjourns after four-day session

The seventh session of the 16th Andhra Pradesh Legislative Assembly has concluded, with Speaker Chintakayala Ayyanna Patrudu adjourning the house sine die after four days of proceedings. The session involved 25 hours and 15 minutes of active business.

During the session, the Assembly unanimously passed 12 bills and adopted a resolution regarding the Union Government’s Water (Prevention and Control of Pollution) Amendment Act, 2024. Key legislative measures passed included the AP Panchayat Raj (Second Amendment) Bill and the AP Regularisation of Services of Contract Employees (Amendment) Bill. One bill was withdrawn during the proceedings.

In addition to legislative business, Agriculture Minister Kinjarapu Atchannaidu urged farmers to complete crop insurance registration before the month-end deadline due to weather uncertainties. Minister S Savitha also reported that the state government has provided approximately 11,285.72 crore in financial assistance to members of the Kapu community over the last two years.
