Andhra Pradesh opens new NTR Bharosa Pension applications

The Andhra Pradesh government has announced a window for fresh applications for the NTR Bharosa Pension Scheme, running from September 7 to September 16. The initiative is designed to expand the state's social security net to include newly eligible elderly persons, widows, individuals with disabilities, and other vulnerable populations.

Applications are to be submitted at Swarna Gramam and Swarna Ward centres across the state. The government currently provides pensions to approximately 62 lakh beneficiaries. The process includes online registration and e-KYC verification during the initial application period, followed by preliminary eligibility checks from September 17 to 21.

Further physical and departmental verifications are scheduled between September 22 and 24. Following budget proposals through the Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP) and official government approval on September 25 and 26, pensions will be sanctioned in phases to eligible recipients.
